Q: What is an analytical laboratory?

A: An analytical laboratory provides the equipment and expertise for very accurate testing of identity, potency, purity, and composition of vitamins, minerals, and botanicals used in 4Life Transfer Factor® products.

Q: Why did 4Life expand its analytical laboratory?

A: While 4Life has always tested all of its products, science continues to advance. This laboratory includes some of the most recent advancements in instrumentation and allows for increasingly sophisticated research and development.

Q: How does this lab benefit 4Life distributors?

A: It demonstrates 4Life’s investment and commitment to stand by its distributors, products, and claims. An internal analytical laboratory is rather unique amongst dietary supplement companies, and is a great sign of products stability and longevity. Moreover, an analytical testing laboratory ensures that all products have been fully developed, correctly formulated, tested for quality, and meet regulatory standards.

Q: Will the laboratory help the Research and Development department advance and develop 4Life products?

A: Yes. Because the analytical instrumentation is very sophisticated, it will provide our department with critical information when formulating products.

Q:What kind of equipment does the analytical laboratory include?

A: This fully developed lab incorporates many types of equipment. A few key instrumentations are: an FTIR to identify purity of raw materials, a HPLC to verify concentration of vitamins and an ICP/MS to test mineral content.

Transfer Factors: A New Beginning on health

A round the world, interest in transfer factors continues to grow, with good reason. We live in an age of wellness, with many people turning their attention to supplements. “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Although it’s not a new idea, more people than ever before subscribe to this in action rather than just in word. Also, there are thousands of people who have benefited from taking 4Life Transfer Factor and, in turn, want to share it with their friends. From a scientific perspective, it is very interesting to observe how so many individuals almost intuitively recognize and grasp onto the idea of transfer factors, recognizing that they have real benefit and real potential in the wellness market.

One of the most unique things about transfer factors is that they are made by the immune system for the immune system, a rare occurrence indeed. I am often asked just what transfer factors are. Physically. they are small proteins, or more specifically, polypeptides (polymers made up of amino acids, which are the building blocks of proteins). Functionally, they are molecules that share information with cells of the immune system, supporting its ability to recognize, respond to, and remember threats to our everyday health.

Transfer factors derive their name from their discovery, which was based on their physiological effects, not their structure. Transfer factors transfer immunity from donor to recipient. They are referred to as factors because their discover, Dr. H. Sherwood Lawrence, knew only that they were something (factors) derived from immune cells. He knew nothing of their structure or composition. In brief, he was able to demonstrate that he could transfer the factors that delivered immunity. Their benefits are what is most important to us, while their structure is still of much scientific interest.

The extraction and concentration of transfer factors from cow colostrum and chicken egg yolk was made possible through modern technology. And it was technology that took them from solely being used in research laboratories to mass production and general use in the wellness revolution. It is an honor for me to be a part of this truly amazing revolution and to play a role in the advancement of Transferceutical Science.
